Jubilee Tour - The Beethoven Story

During this walking tour you will learn a lot about the life and the work of the world-famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven during his time in Bonn. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn in 1770 and spent the first 22 years of his life here. On this tour, especially developed for the Beethoven Jubilee in 2020, you will follow the most important stations of young Beethoven’s life in his Bonn environment.

The stations on this tour are, among others, the Beethoven-Haus, where Ludwig van Beethoven was born, and the Remigiuskirche with its wonderful cloister, where the composer played the organ as a ten-year old during early mass. His baptism font is on display in this church today. Of course you will also visit the well-known Beethoven memorial on Münsterplatz, which was erected in 1845 on the initiative of Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt.

Conference helpers will meet you at 2:15 p.m. before the conference venue and guide you to the meeting point at the corner of Adenauer Allee / Hofgarten. The tour starts at 3 p.m. and will last around two hours.

Special Covid19 request: Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination/recovery to the guide.
