Paths of democracy -Tour through the former government district

The cradle of German democracy after World War II is in Bonn. This tour starts at the “Haus der Geschichte Bonn” and leads through the former district of Bonn parliament and government to the architectural witnesses of the era which has left its imprint on the town until today.

On this time travel through more than 50 years of the history of democracy in Bonn, you walk along the “Path of Democracy” and visit significant places in the former government district. Such places are among others the Bundeshaus with the former plenary halls, the Bundesrat,  the “Langer Eugen”, which is today the seat of the UN Campus and several UN institutions, as well as the Villa Hammerschmidt, the Bonn office of the Bundespräsident.

Conference helpers will meet you at 2:15 p.m. before the conference venue and guide you to Bonn Central Station. There you can take the subway lines 16, 63 and 66 and get out at the stop "Heussallee/Museumsmeile". The meeting point with the tour guides is at the main entrance of "Haus der Geschichte Bonn", Willy-Brandt-Allee 14, 53113 Bonn. The tour starts at 3 p.m. and will last around two hours.
