Description
Managing modern medical and biomedical research data requires scalable, integrated, and compliant infrastructures that span the entire data lifecycle. At the Core Facility Research Data Management (University Hospital Bonn/Medical Faculty University of Bonn), we provide a comprehensive suite of digital services designed to support researchers, administrators, and students alike.
This contribution presents our core service pillars: Self-Service: A central platform streamlining infrastructure requests, storage allocation, project and user administration, and reusable workflows for recurring services. Metadata & Lifecycle: Integrated tooling for structured metadata capture, dataset and workflow documentation, lifecycle tracking, and FAIR-oriented reuse. Reporting & Visibility: Systems that link ongoing projects with datasets and publications, seamlessly reusing publication data to support institutional reporting and enhance research visibility. Training & Student Activity: Dedicated modules for tracking student-related activities and coordinating teaching-related processes. Data Collection: GDPR-compliant survey data collection tools available via both web interfaces and a specialized smartphone app, supporting advanced research methodologies such as the acquisition of wearable device data via Bluetooth.
Together, these interconnected services bridge the gap between day-to-day data management, institutional compliance, and long-term research impact.
