NuMeriQS Retreat
September 30 - October 02, 2024
Bethe Center for Theoretical Physics, Wegelerstraße 10, 53115 Bonn (Germany)
Launched in April 2024 and funded by the DFG, the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1639 NuMeriQS: Numerical Methods for Dynamics and Structure Formation in Quantum Systems aims to advance the understanding of dynamics and structure formation in quantum systems. The project builds upon the interdisciplinary collaboration between physics, chemistry, numerical mathematics and computer science to jointly tackle previously unsolvable problems. The involved researchers want to further develop numerical methods and algorithms in order to be able to investigate quantum systems in chemistry as well as particle and solid-state physics with the help of supercomputers and, in the future, quantum computers.
In addition to the University of Bonn, the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim/Ruhr are also involved. The Retreat 2024 enables an initial exchange between all participants and at the same time provides an initial status quo of the research.
