Mehr als ein Vierteljahrhundert hat Ian Brock Einfluss auf Wissenschaft und Alltag am Physikalischen Institut Bonn genommen. Mit dem 01.08. tritt er seinen wohlverdienten Ruhestand an. Und obwohl wir wissen, dass wir sicher noch von ihm hören werden, so nehmen wir dies als Anlass, Sie am 20.07. herzlich in den Hörsaal 1 einzuladen um zurückzublicken, auf eine Karriere in der Teilchenphysik, am Zeus sowie am ATLAS Experiment und nicht zuletzt auf eine Faszination und Akribie für EDV und Textsetzung, die über das Institut hinaus prägend war.
Wir würden uns freuen, sie im Anschluss an das Kolloquium im Innenhof des FTDs begrüßen zu dürfen. Für das leibliche Wohl wird gesorgt. Zwecks besserer Planung melden Sie sich bis zum 16.07.2024 über das Indico Formular an.
For more than a quarter of a century, Ian Brock has influenced science and everyday life at the Bonn Institute of Physics. On the first of August, he will enter his well-deserved retirement. Although we are certain, that we will still be hearing from him in the future, we would like to take this as an opportunity to invite you to Hörsaal 1 on July the 20th to look back on a career in particle physics, at ZEUS as well as the ATLAS experiment. Appreciate with us his influencial fascination and meticulousness for computing and LaTeX typesetting that has left its mark beyond the institute.
