 cade\, the IceCube Neutrino Observatory has pioneered thefield of what has
  become neutrino astronomy\, by discovering andcharacterising the flux of 
 astrophysical neutrinos. As unequivocaltracers of hadronic particle accele
 ration\, neutrinos could be the keyto unveiling the origin of ultra-high-e
 nergy cosmic rays. Neutrinotelescopes have been hunting for the sources of
  astrophysical neutrinoswith a wide range of methods. While evidence has e
 merged for activegalactic nuclei and our own Galactic Plane being high-ene
 rgy neutrinofactories\, we know that the majority of the astrophysical flu
 x comesfrom yet unresolved sources. Multi-wavelength and multi-messengerob
 servations of transient astrophysical phenomena\, such as supernovaeand ti
 dal disruption events\, could be the key to discovering new cosmicaccelera
 tors. In this seminar\, I will give an overview of the scienceenabled by n
 eutrino telescopes and of high-energy neutrinos as a novelwindow on our Un
