 ics has revealed a vast world of new relations connecting perturbative and
  nonperturbative physics. The main motivation is to find new ways to compu
 te using the quantum field theory path integral\, by developing new method
 s to analytically continue between perturbation theory and nonperturbative
  methods such as semiclassical expansions and lattice gauge theory. This t
 alk will introduce the key ideas underlying resurgence\, illustrated with 
 examples from quantum mechanics\, matrix models and quantum field theory.\
