Description

We study the flux tube in the reconfined phase of trace-deformed SU(2) Yang–Mills theory in (2+1) dimensions, where center symmetry is restored and the Polyakov loop has vanishing expectation value even at high temperatures. Using numerical simulations, we analyze the confining potential between two Polyakov loops and show that it differs markedly from that of standard confining gauge theories, while displaying remarkable agreement with the rigid-string description in the limit of dominant extrinsic-curvature contributions. We also discuss the transverse profile of the flux tube and present a preliminary investigation of the phase diagram of the theory.
