Description

The reconstruction of hadronic jets, and the interpretation of scattering processes which involve these jets, is essential for testing our understanding of the interactions of fundamental particles. The assignment of flavour to these hadronic jets (eg charm or beauty) enables these tests to be performed in a flavour-specific manner. In this talk I will discuss some of the open problems in the topic of jet flavour, and highlight the disconnect which is present between the current theoretical and experimental definitions of the flavour of a jet. I will also present a solution which overcomes these issues.
