 res the pivotal role of permanent magnets in the design and operation of p
 article accelerators. Permanent magnets\, known for their ability to maint
 ain a constant magnetic field without the need for external power\, offer 
 significant advantages in terms of energy efficiency and operational stabi
 lity. Case studies are presented\, ranging from smaller fixed-field device
 s to larger adjustable devices that can act as replacements for electromag
 nets\, as well as undulators and wigglers for light source facilities. Hig
 hlights of recent advances in the field are presented\, as well as advanta
 ges and disadvantages of permanent magnet versus other available technolog
